What Is The Difference Between FRP Tile And PC Tile (2)

Oct 18, 2021

Glass fiber reinforced plastic lighting tiles and PC tiles can be used as lighting tiles for roof and wall lighting and shading. So what is the difference between FRP lighting tile and PC tile? How to choose when buying?

Tensile strength: The higher tensile strength of FRP tiles is 70-100Mpa, which can withstand slightly higher loads and has a general resistance to typhoons. The impact strength of PC board is 250 times that of ordinary glass of the same thickness, and the tensile strength (160Mpa) is strong to bear load and resist typhoon.

Thermal conductivity: 0.158w/m.k, heat insulation slightly better than PC. The thermal conductivity of the PC board is 0.166w/m.k.

Surface maintenance: The glass fiber reinforced plastic tile has a curved surface, which can only be brushed by rain, without manual cleaning. Dust and dirt on the surface of the PC board are generally wiped with a soft cloth or sponge moistened with a neutral detergent, and then rinsed thoroughly with water. The PC board needs to be cleaned regularly, otherwise it will affect the light transmittance.

Construction cost: The width of the glass fiber reinforced plastic tile is limited, the rigidity is poor, and the single-span load capacity is poor, and it cannot be used in conjunction with the steel plate on the large-span, large-purlin steel structure roof. The PC board has strong rigidity and large coefficient of thermal expansion and contraction. It must be installed with split purlins. It has a large laying area and is easier to install.

In summary, PC tile has high tensile strength and poor thermal insulation performance. It needs to be cleaned regularly. The coefficient of thermal expansion and contraction is large. Split purlins must be used; while glass fiber reinforced plastic tile does not need to be cleaned, it has a long service life and is suitable for large spans or large purlins. It is used on the steel structure roof of the distance.
