FRP grating is a kind of plate-shaped material with many spaces, which is made of glass fiber as the reinforcing material, unsaturated polyester resin as the matrix, and is compounded by special processing. The FRP grating has excellent corrosion resistance. It is widely loved by people and widely used in various fields because of its durability, high temperature resistance, bright colors, strong designability, and a service life of more than 50 years. According to research by relevant experts, there are three main elements that make up the superior performance of FRP grating: glass fiber, synthetic resin and interface.
(1) Glass fiber
FRP fiber can improve the strength and elastic modulus of the FRP grille cover, and can reduce shrinkage deformation, increase the thermal deformation temperature and low-temperature impact strength, so it is the main load-bearing part of the FRP grille.
(2) Synthetic resin
Synthetic resin, as the base of FRP, is necessary to glue the glass fiber into a whole. Since resin is a matrix material, it has an impact on the elastic modulus, heat resistance, electrical insulation, electromagnetic wave permeability, chemical resistance, weather resistance, and aging resistance of FRP.
(3) Interface
The high performance of FRP grating is related to the quality and durability of the interface bonding between fiber and resin. The interface has a great influence on the performance of the FRP grating. As we all know, glass fiber is a kind of cylindrical glass, the surface is as smooth as glass, and the surface is often firmly adsorbed with a thin water film, which of course affects the bonding performance of glass fiber and resin. Especially in the process of drawing and spinning glass fiber, in order to achieve the purposes of bundling, lubrication, and elimination of static electricity, a layer of sizing agent is often applied. It is isolated from the glass fiber and prevents the bonding between the two.
